ART Lower Extremity Level 1 provides evidence-based instruction of the necessary skills to detect and treat soft-tissue anomalies and dysfunctions of the feet, ankles, legs, knees, hips, and the surrounding structures. Throughout the seminar, attendees review the muscle and soft-tissue structures of the lower extremities, and how to evaluate and appropriately treat the disorders using the ART Diagnostic Algorithm and 62 manual protocols. Lower Extremity Level 1 techniques can be used to treat a broad list of dysfunctions, including runner's knee, shin splints, plantar fasciitis, and other soft-tissue dysfunctions.
ART seminars require an intermediate to expert understanding of musculoskeletal anatomy. We suggest that providers register at least four to six weeks in advance to allow time for self-study of the seminar curriculum materials. In addition, we highly recommend that student attendees complete at least one semester of gross anatomy prior to attending a seminar.
ART seminars provide a hybrid learning model with online modules and in-person training. Attendees are expected to complete online preparatory materials consisting of a review of gross anatomy, ART treatment methodology, protocol instructions, and a pre-credentialing exam. During the in-person portion of the seminar, attendees work alongside instructors and other attendees to practice palpation and treatment protocols. On the final seminar day, each attendee will demonstrate his/her skills through a 20-30 minute practical exam to determine if they meet minimum certification requirements to employ ART treatment to patients.
Day 1 Instruction: 10:00 to 17:00
Day 2 Instruction: 8:00 to 17:00
Day 3 Instruction: 8:00 to 12:00
Day 3 Testing: 13:00 to 17:00
(Each attendee will test on 6-10 protocols during a 20 or 30-minute time slot on test day (please plan travel accordingly).
